Hannes trained as a cook and worked both in a variety of gourmet kitchens as well as in the convenience food sector. Both of these fields of work, coupled with a one-year stint in a delicatessen and gourmet company, helped to solidify his knowledge to become a journalist in the gourmet sector.
In 1996, Hannes Konzett launched 'Oscar's Guide' followed, in 1999, by 'Oscar's Hotel & Restaurant Magazine'.
