Access to the world’s best chefs is rare – the chance to watch them at work up close, to talk one on one, to taste and learn in a kitchen environment is even more unusual. The Masterclass series created by Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants for 2015 includes three unique culinary workshops from some of the finest chefs and restaurateurs in North America, South America and Asia respectively. And for the first time, we are also presenting a Wine Workshop and Tasting featuring an expert panel of sommeliers, chefs and restaurateurs.

Your gastronomic hosts – hailing from the acclaimed Eleven Madison Park in New York; from a quartet of Peru’s best restaurants, or from the brilliant Bangkok-based Gaggan – will reveal the thinking behind their standout creations, as well as the cooking techniques and presentation skills used.

Each Masterclass holds between 12 and 36 guests and runs for approximately two hours. Conversation and interaction are very much part of the process, and each session includes samples – whether dishes or wine tastings – from the Masterclass itself.

Registrations open at 10am each day. Coffee and conversation are available for early arrivals. Tickets are limited and available until sold out.

The chef-owner of Gaggan in Bangkok, the Highest New Entry in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list 2014, demonstrates how to bridge the gap between cheap eats and high-end cooking and between East and West. Starting with two classic street food dishes from India, Gaggan uses modern cooking techniques to reinvent age-old staples as “progressive Indian cuisine”. Attendees at this exclusive session will get to taste both the original street food dish and the Gaggan version: with those who dare donning blind-folds to see if their taste buds can tell the difference.
