Joannès Rivière

Joannès Rivière was born in the countryside near Lyon, where his parents worked as vegetable farmers for the famous Troisgros brothers before opening their own restaurant, where Joannès learnt the culinary basics. After working as a pastry chef in the US, he moved to Siem Reap in 2003 as a volunteer cooking teacher, and two years later became executive chef at the iconic Hotel de la Paix. Joannès opened his own restaurant in 2011, serving modern Cambodian cuisine based on local produce.
