Rafael Piqueras

Chef-owner, Maras Restaurante

A graduate of the Cordon Bleu Institute of Peru, Rafael has worked at some of the world’s best restaurants, including El Bulli, under the legendary Ferran Adriá, and El Celler de Can Roca, both in Spain. He ran his own restaurant, Fusión, in Lima from 2006 to 2008, and since June 2011 has run Maras, a fine dining venue at the Westin Lima Hotel & Convention Center. Rafael buys a kitchen knife on every overseas trip he takes, and he credits his discipline in the kitchen to a lifelong obsession with Kung Fu.
