D.O.M. restaurant in São Paulo just reopened Monday night after renovations. The number of seats has been reduced to 50, “to give our clients better service”, says chef-owner Alex Atala.

Out went the bright-colored walls, in came the beige. Definitely cosier.

A  Philippe Starck chandelier hangs over a vintage table in the middle of the room.

At the back of the room, shelves hold the chef’s recipe books and handicrafts brought from his travels.

The mezanine is now glassed-in and much more private, for hi-rollers that need privacy to close their deals.

There’s even an indian head gear hanging on the back kitchen wall…

I dined at D.O.M just prior to the renovations. I love the new decor and I look forward to revisit this magnificent restaurnant at my next visit to Sao Paulo.
