Action Against Hunger

  Our official charity, Action Against Hunger has implemented programmes in Haiti since 1985, carrying out emergency measures in the areas of health and nutrition, areas of health and nutrition. Since 2001, they have focused primarily on food security and water, sanitation and hygiene programmes in both emergency and development contexts in Port de Paix, Gonaives, Anse Rouge and Jeremiah.

  Action Against Hunger teams are on the ground, and have begun to carry out rapid evaluations with additional support, equipment and materials – including water treatment supplies, emergency vehicles and communications equipment.

  In addition, an emergency response team of 6 experts is on its way to Haiti to reinforce their teams on the ground. A planeload of emergency stocks have been dispatched from Paris. These stocks include emergency water and sanitation equipment and food aid supplies. Relief activities will focus on water and sanitation as well as providing therapeutic milk to children under six months old.
