A carnivore’s playground, this Yas Island steakhouse is justly known for some of the best meat in Abu Dhabi. Well aged and well hung, the prime steaks come from opposite ends of the earth, with hearty American cuts and intensely flavoured Australian Angus beef to choose from. Whether you like it nicely charred or bloody and rare, the chefs never fail to get it right. But if you don’t like it at all (meat, that is) there’s a raft of seafood and vegetarian dishes to enjoy with Blue Grill’s vast collection of Old and New World vintages.

Darren Andow

Chef Darren started his career in the kitchen at the tender age of 14. After obtaining a diploma in hotel and catering, he ventured to Greece and Cyprus working in various kitchens gaining valuable experience. Eventually, Andow returned to England and took up a new challenge at the prestigious Hilton Hotel in the position of a Sous Chef, successful in his carrier, Hilton Group moved him to the Middle East where he explored new opportunities. Darren joined Rotana Hotels & Resorts back in 2002, opening luxurious Hotels & Resorts with the company in UAE and ME. He currently heads up the team for their 2 properties on Yas Island. He believes that good food does not always have to be costly, complicated or highly garnished as most of his favourite dishes are the epitome of simplicity.
