With over 750 applicants from across the globe, limited to those with under three years experience in the industry, the programme gives budding bartenders across the world the opportunity to work alongside some of the best in the industry. For Drew Fleming from the Isle of Man, this was his golden ticket deservingly delivered.
Tucked away on the serene Isle of Man Fleming is a shining star in hospitality, emerging from doors of the joyous and high-energy Kiki Lounge.
With compassion, innovation and affability already standing at the core of his bartending practices, it’s clear that Fleming is firmly planted within the world of hospitality. Each drink he constructs is done so with the care and attention to detail of a professional with years of practice behind them.
In the coming year, as the first winner of the 50 Best The Blend Scholarship, Fleming will have the opportunity to gain experience in accomplished bars across the world, including two-time World No.1 Connaught Bar in London, alongside Katana Kitten in New York, No.4 in North America’s 50 Best Bars listing.
