Latin America’s 50 Best
chefs Leonor Espinosa, Enrique Olvera, Kurt Schmidt and Carlos García will take part in an interactive #50BestTalks event focusing on Latin Liquids.

On Sunday 25th September at The St. Regis Mexico City’s J&G Grill, these four top speakers from across the region will discuss and demonstrate their countries’ key drinks, from cocktails to beverages you may never have heard of.

Colombia: Leonor Espinosa

Leo, whose eponymous restaurant in Bogotá is No.33 in Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants 2015, will showcase the ancestral drinks and juices of Colombia, made by ethnic communities.

 


Mexico: Enrique Olvera

The award-winning chef-restaurateur behind Pujol, No.9 in Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants 2015, will talk about pulque, an alcoholic drink made from the fermented sap of the agave plant that’s little known outside Mexico. Find his recipe for aguas frescas here.

 


Chile: Kurt Schmidt

Kurt Schmidt of 99, No.46 in Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants 2015, will reveal his brand new cocktail pairing, based on homemade Chilean fruit juices and the potent national liquor, agua ardiente.

 


Venezuela: Carlos García

Carlos García, the cacao king of Caracas, will talk about Venezuelan rum and how he pairs it perfectly with his chocolatey desserts at Alto, The Best Restaurant in Venezuela and No.29 in Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants 2015.
