Shady Pines Saloon
Live Western bands, enormous stuffed animals and bartenders madly pressing apples before slinging whisky in with the juice, Shady Pines is where the locals go to have one of Sydney’s best nights out. It’s not all cheap beers and monkey nuts however, as this underground speakeasy/dive bar off Oxford Street boasts five-star cocktails alongside one the city’s most extensive whisky lists, beaten only by sister venue The Baxter Inn. Like all the Swillhouse group bars (Shady Pines being the first), the vibe is as loose and unpretentious as it gets while the cocktails are sharp and cold and the service comes with a smile.
