A feast for the eyes as well as the belly, Bellemore is a work of art, with its sleek brass interiors, plush sofas, stuffed peacocks and eye-catching paintings. Chef Jimmy Papadopoulos also puts art on the plate, with dishes such as his blossom- and caviar-topped oyster pie that is almost too pretty to eat. But eat it you must, as the food tastes as good as it looks. Try veal sweetbreads with watermelon and kohlrabi or cashew caramel tart with farro verde ice cream. Papadopoulos calls his cuisine ‘artistic American’.
