Pépé le Moko
Hidden beneath Clyde Common – another well-loved bar from Pepe’s owner Jeffrey Morgenthaler – this basement bar is an intimate spot that’s made a name for itself serving oysters and creative cocktails. Dark and secretive, the 42-seater space feels like a glamorous, albeit windowless, old-school railway dining car and the menu will no doubt surprise those coming for a slice Morgenthaler’s cocktail credentials. Rather than the classics, it’s an homage to ‘80s drinks; think Long Island Iced Tea, Amaretto Sour and Grasshoppers – all tweaked and finessed.
