The stunning cityscape of Hong Kong is set to host Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2024 for a second year. A melting pot of cultures, cuisines and, of course, exciting cocktail culture, it’s a fitting host for the biggest celebration of bar talent on the continent.
In partnership with Hong Kong Tourism Board, 50 Best’s dynamic event programme will bring the best and brightest industry talent from across Asia to celebrate at a series of iconic venues and innovative cocktail collaborations across the city.
Hong Kong will play host to the Asia's 50 Best Bars events programme for a second year in 2024
It all starts with the official welcome to Hong Kong: the now-legendary Bartenders’ Feast, which will be held at the highest rooftop bar in Hong Kong, The Ritz Carlton’s Ozone. Taking place the night before the awards ceremony on Monday the 15th, this event brings bartenders together to feast, celebrate and speculate ahead of the award ceremony.
Momentum for the main event builds the following day as with red-carpet moments and the showcasing of the extended 51-100 list before the final countdown from No.50 to this year’s No.1, which will be named The Best Bar in Asia 2023, sponsored by Perrier.
The beautiful Rosewood Hong Kong will provide a stunning backdrop this year’s live awards ceremony. This property was awarded the Best Hotel in Asia 2023 accolade and took the No.2 spot in the inaugural ranking of The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2023.

When the No.1 of Asia’s 50 Best Bars has been announced, the winner will give an exclusive, live interview via the @50BestBars Instagram account. The entire ceremony will be livestreamed across the world on the YouTube channel, 50 Best Bars TV.
After a successful launch event last year, the official Closing Party is back for 2024. Taking place once again at luxurious restaurant Aqua, the teams behind the newly awarded bars will come together for one final feast and drink overlooking Victoria Harbour to bring the year's programme of events to a close.
Since the inception of Asia’s 50 Best Bars in 2016, the top spot has been shared between two cities: Hong Kong and the Lion City of Singapore. 2023’s edition of the awards saw Jay Khan’s agave-forward Coa set in the host city’s financial district take the top spot for a staggering third consecutive year, followed by Singapore’s 2019 winner Jigger & Pony in second place.
Coa made history in 2023 as the first-ever three-time champion of Asia's 50 Best Bars
Bangkok’s BKK Social Club followed at No.3. Tokyo stalwart Bar Benfiddich came in at No.4 with Zest from Seoul taking the final spot in the top five and claiming the coveted Nikka Highest Climber Award at the same time.
In the weeks leading up to the event, the Michter’s Art of Hospitality Award – an accolade given to the bar that has offered outstanding service to its guests in the past 18 months and claimed last year by Singaporean sipper Sago House – will be revealed, as well as the Altos Bartenders’ Bartender – the only peer-voted individual award in the programme. In the 2023 edition of Asia’s 50 Best Bars, this award went to Beckaly Franks of The Pontiac in Hong Kong.
Other special awards which will be announced as part of the ceremony include: Roku Industry Icon, Ketel One Sustainable Bar, Disaronno Highest New Entry, London Essence Best New Opening, Nikka Highest Climber, Siete Misterios Best Cocktail Menu, Campari One To Watch, Rémy Martin Legend of the List and the Destination Award Winners.
