Hidden in the basement of a nightlife complex in Jakarta's SCBD, Carrots is an intimate 14-seat cocktail bar defined by its sense of playfulness, community and craft. Co-founders Alvin Sung Jaya and Monica Jonan, alongside creative partner Anthony Luis, have built a low-lit, design-led space that feels part speakeasy, part social table. The centrepiece is an eight-seat communal bar surrounded by standing room, where guests are encouraged to mingle over drinks that blend innovative culinary thinking with classic cocktail structure.

The current menu I Drink, Therefore I Am is a seasonal exploration of flavour designed to meet guests wherever their palate lies. From banana-daiquiri riffs to sarsaparilla-smoked highballs, cocktails here are inventive without being self-indulgent. Everything is rooted in careful R&D, with nods to Indo-Chinese ingredients and kitchen techniques. Serious about flavour but not too serious about itself, Carrots has quickly made a name for itself in an ever-evolving scene.
