Located in Tainan's serene North District, Moonrock is a low-profile cocktail bar with high appeal that invites guests to escape earth's orbit, entering a lunar state of mind shadowed by artistic storytelling. The name itself embodies the venue's essence: 'Moon' evokes the mystery and romance of the night, while 'rock' signifies a laid-back, steady rhythm. Every aspect of Moonrock – from its carefully curated lighting and spatial design to the thoughtfully selected indie music – reflects the passions of its founder, A-Liao, and a community of artists and creators that support him. 

The bar's seasonal menu, Moon Shapes, is a testament to its refined and introspective spirit, drawing inspiration from photography via a visual and emotive narrative. Partnering with local creatives, each cocktail becomes a vessel for cultural exchange and shared imagination. Libations showcase local Taiwanese ingredients, such as prickly ash seeds, makao (mountain pepper), and native cacao, expertly crafted using experimental textural methods, like granita and espuma to elevate each drink's sensory profile. Expanding beyond the boundaries of flavour and smell, cocktails involve collaborations in design, music, light, and other artistic expression. Here, savouring a drink is just as much about emotional connection as it is taste.

Moonrock's food menu complements its cocktail offerings, featuring approachable East-meets-West bar bites designed by Chef Kedy of Jaimiba. Think foie gras ravioli and fried tripe – comfort plates that enhance the drinking experience without adhering to rigid pairing rules. 

With a two-storey inviting layout akin to a historic Taiwanese mansion, outfitted in dark wood panelling and abundant foliage, plus a well-stocked bar spotlighting a collection of in-house made spirits, Moonrock is a haven for cocktail enthusiasts and those seeking an artistic expedition.
