Located within Vancouver's historic Chinatown, The Keefer Bar has been an institution of the city for more than a decade. Where expansion and modernisation has eroded away some of Chinatown's history, the bar uses its space to spotlight its history through a unique drinks programme that is inspired by old apothecaries.

Keefer's selection of 'prescriptions', aka cocktails, are split into rotating seasonal options and menu mainstays. Around Lunar New Year, expect drinks like the milk-clarified Pink Pony Club, made with gin, bamboo liqueur, herbal liqueur, strawberry tea, lemon and hojicha. From the greatest hits 'Alumni' selection, the Antidote fully leans into the medicinal concept, combining Canadian whisky, yuzu sake, lemon and Nin Jiom (traditional Chinese herbal remedy). The classics are just as honed, with the Forager's Martini a fantastic rendition on the original, imbued with house-pickled vegetables and served at a cool -20 degrees. Don't miss out on its happy hour, where all bar snacks and dim sum are half price, and a selection of cocktails are just $8 a pop.
