The Keefer Bar

Located within Vancouver’s historic Chinatown, The Keefer Bar has been an institution of the city for more than a decade. Where expansion and modernisation has eroded away at some of Chinatown’s history, the bar uses its place to spotlight its history through a unique drinks programme that is inspired by old apothecaries.

Keefer’s selection of ‘prescriptions’, aka cocktails, are split into rotating seasonal options and menu mainstays. Come Spring, expect drinks like the No Good Deed, made with cacao husk gin, honey bush vermouth, soursop and absinthe. From the all-year ‘Alumni’ selection, the Antidote fully leans into the medicinal concept, combining Canadian whisky, yuzu sake, lemon and Nin Jiom (traditional Chinese herbal remedy). The classics are just as honed, with the Keefer 75 a fantastic rendition on the original. Don’t miss out on its happy hour, where all bar snacks and dim sum are half price, and a selection of cocktails are just $6-8 a pop.
