Licorería Limantour

Mexico City

Mexico City’s celebrated craft cocktail scene all started with Licorería Limantour in 2011. Limantour might be seen as the godfather, but the technicolour, bi-level neon bar is still imbued with a party spirit that belies that distinguished gravitas. Limantour can seem like a crowded scene, but an elite bar staff ensures that drinks flow fast – and always perfectly. Bar manager José Luis León has crafted a menu that celebrates its Mexico City roots with signature cocktails like the venerated Margarita al Pastor (tequila, orange liqueur, taco mix and lime) always on the list. You’ll also find menus inspired by different Mexico destinations such as Oaxaca and the most recent ,“Ida y Vuelta a Baja” menu, which is based on the soul of Ensenada, the main fishing hub in Baja California. The menu features cocktails like “Salicornia” (gin, glasswort, coconut, pepper mix, vermouth) and endorses Limantour’s commitment to exalting its Mexican roots with every sip.

Apart from being a permanent presence on North America’s 50 Best Bars list as one of Mexico’s finest, Licorería Limantour has become a stalwart Mexico City cocktail destination and an obligatory spot to stop and sip a Margarita al Pastor.
