74 Restaurant

Búzios, Brazil

On the peaceful terrace within the luxury Casas Brancas boutique hotel in upmarket Búzios, 74 Restaurant is an idyllic spot to enjoy ingredients fresh from the sea while looking out onto the pristine harbour. Argentine chef Gonzalo Vidal brings his experience from Japan and Europe to cook oriental-meets-Mediterranean cuisine with a focus on seafood such as grilled octopus, seared tuna and lobster rice. Aside from the à la carte, there is a seven-course tasting menu featuring local products from sea, land and the restaurant’s own garden. Nothing is frozen here – Vidal thrives on receiving a daily catch that might include seabass, monkfish or giant lobster, with highlights including an exquisite seaweed cone of tuna belly and sea urchin. The restaurant is named after 1974, the year the Casas Brancas hotel was founded.
