São Paulo, Brazil
In the same spot for over 25 years, Chef Rouge is a classic French restaurant whose menu is created under the gaze of Alain Ducasse’s consulting arm, Conseil. A speciality of the house is its duck, served many ways: the breast with orange sauce and gaufrette potatoes; the leg cooked confit with apple and pink peppercorns; and the thigh slowly braised with olives. The menu also covers off excellent examples of French classics such as escargots, onion soup and filet mignon. The dining room is an intimate and elegant space, with pistachio-hued walls and plush velvet sofas. You can’t miss the bright red awning that marks its spot in one of São Paulo’s most exclusive neighbourhoods.
