Tan Tan is a seriously cool underground bar, bringing a touch of Japanese bar culture to São Paulo. The interior is all angles and hard surfaces – think wood, hammered metal and granite, and the food is a delicious mix of noodles, dumplings and deep-fried drinking food like katsu sandos. When it comes to the cocktails the approach is inventive and flavour-led, with house creations including the Yo Yo, which mixes shochu, artichoke amaro and dry vermouth with chocolate and lemon bitters, or the Tan Tan Club, which blends sherry brandy with fino, sweet vermouth, orange bitters and pineapple.
