Dragomir Estate Winery
Thracian Valley, Bulgaria
The ultra-modern design of Dragomir’s new winery, crafted largely from concrete, blends artfully into its Bulgarian landscape. Finished in 2020 and located in the village of Brestnik, the exterior is covered in dark basalt, its floor-length windows giving a prime view out onto the mountains on one side and the historic city of Plovdiv on the other. Visitors to this gravity-fed facility get to taste its wines from a glass-walled tasting room in the nerve centre, looking out onto the production and barrel halls whilst tasting the wines made there. Tours illuminating the history of this boutique winery, established in 2006, are accompanied by a flight of either the core range of wines or the ‘Reserve’ labels.
