Osaka

Bogotá, Colombia

Restaurant brand Osaka has created a small empire for itself in South America. It began in Lima in 2002, where locals fell in love with the Peruvian-Japanese crossover, and soon outposts appeared in Buenos Aires,, Santiago, São Paulo and Bogotá. And there’s good reason for the success. There’s a sterling combination of ingredients from the restaurant's blended roots – many familiar, but intuitively different enough that dishes feel new and fresh. Inside the atmosphere is buzzing, with punters returning to the vibey spot for some of the city's freshest fish. Highlights include thinly sliced tiradito and melt-in-mouth nigiri but some of the bigger izakaya plates will also pique interest. Try the duck confit gyoza or chimichurri octopus, followed by the Yama Sour dessert, made with soursop and hibiscus meringue.
