Ferme de la Ruchotte
Bligny-sur-Ouche, France
Ferme de la Ruchotte chef-owner Frédéric Menager has a passion for poultry. After training in some of France's most renowned kitchens, he started rearing rare, flavoursome species of fowl at this idyllic farm-to-table inn nestled in the Burgundy hills. The result is a foodie paradise serving sumptuous lunches (it's not open for dinner) using the freshest vegetables grown in the surrounding fields, mushrooms and herbs foraged from the local woods, and the farm's own chickens and pigs. The dining area seats up to 35 people, where rusticity meets refined. Go for the five-course set menu – or push the boat out on the nine-course extravaganza, which includes an amuse-bouche, three entrées, a trio of main courses, a selection of cheeses and dessert. Either way, what you can be sure of is fresh and authentic cooking. For a real gastronomic experience, keep an eye open for the grand feasts that take place throughout the year.
