The medieval village of Kaysersberg is bookended by vineyards and mountains, with Le Chambard hotel – its bold red façade softened by copious flower-filled hanging baskets – housing the jewel in its culinary crown. The hotel’s newly redesigned Michelin two-star La Table d’Olivier Nasti features a clean, minimalist palette punctuated by elk antlers on the walls. Working closely with local suppliers, Nasti champions the flavours of Alsace in beautiful, multi-textured dishes. His new ‘Expressions’ menu (seven courses plus two desserts) offers the likes of smoked Rhine eel with candied citrus, and Arctic char in a honey and fir tree oil vinaigrette.
