The Japanese vinyl bar tradition – the jazz kissa – is alive and well on the streets of Paris' Haut-Marais. The minimalist, vintage interior invites you to slow down and give your full attention to the music, and obviously to the the cocktails, which fall into three sections: year-round signatures, which bring together ingredients from Japan, France and further afield; a frequently spruced seasonal spread with (using Asian flavours like lapsong souchong, oolong and a bourbon and brandy mango stick rice mix); plus a strong set of classics. For those with an appetite, Japanese bar snacks – karaage, tempura and shiitake – make a dreamy accompaniment.
