Perched on the banks of Lake Annecy you will find Breton chef Yoann Conte's passion project – an 11-bedroom hotel incorporating a widely acclaimed restaurant. Within Le Table de Yoann Conte dishes are given a real sense of place with ingredients grown in Conte's lakeside garden alongside locally-sourced meat and fish. There's a choice of two tasting menus: Lenn Bihan and Lenn Braz, both available with paired drinks, and while a course of pork and liver terrine or beef tartare might sound like familiar rustic classics, Conte's signature flourishes and exquisite presentation elevate each to something quite different. The restaurant interior follows the same pattern, with a stripped-back decor dominated by wood, which evokes a hint of ski chalet, tempered by soft drapes, pressed tablecloths and exquisite sculptures and ceramics.
