Georges Blanc’s flagship restaurant nestles in bucolic countryside in the superstar chef’s hometown of Vonnas – population 2,000. Blanc follows in the footsteps of the three generations of women in his family who ran an acclaimed restaurant here from 1872. With Georges at the helm, the establishment was awarded three Michelin stars in 1981, and has held onto them ever since. Now with a luxury hotel, spa, deli and boutiques selling branded homeware to his name, Blanc continues to champion regional specialities, including ‘Poulet Bresse’, the only chicken with an appellation.
