The classic Greek taverna is one of the most aped dining concepts, with homage paid (to varying degrees of effectiveness) the world over. But here, in the country's capital, tradition is being turned on its head with this thoroughly modern take on the taverna. Set within a light, bright, glass-fronted room with terrazzo floors, simple artwork and galvanised metal furniture, there's also a sweet restaurant garden where guests can dine in the shade of a lemon tree. As for the food, the chefs use largely organic ingredients to produce dishes including a twist on the famous Greek salad, served with Greek Brie rather than the usual feta or a lamb tagliata, served alongside a delightful all-Greek wine list, which provides a great opportunity to taste your way through the country's native grapes.
