The first overseas venture from Singapore’s Jigger & Pony Group, Cosmo Pony opens with a bang at the Grand Hyatt Jakarta. Drawing from the flair of mid-century lounges, its marble, brass and warm textures create a space that’s sophisticated yet sociable – more evening salon than hotel bar. Staff bring Jigger and Pony’s signature warmth, guiding guests through the bar’s zine-style menu. Fruit-heavy cocktails home in on Jakarta’s origins as a trading port, which facilitated the introduction and cultivation of fruits native to Indonesia and Southeast Asia. Ugly Bananas turns overripe fruit into a whisky sour twist, while drinks under the ‘Today, Tomorrow’ section feature tequila as a vehicle to showcase the city’s growing agave culture. Cosmo Pony is playful, polished and poised to become Jakarta’s new living room.
