Rutenberg Restaurant is a quiet triumph of hyper-local dining. Led by Hilah Ronen Saha and Yizhar Sahar, the kitchen is all about heroing ingredients from the surrounding valley, producing dishes that cling to their roots alongside refreshingly new ones. The menu is very much shaped by the seasons with produce plucked from the restaurant’s two acre garden. Lunch is a no-menu affair, but diners are invited to walk the garden and speak to growers before a ten-course meal is dished up, including a beef tartare with foraged caper mayonnaise, cucumber relish and cured fennel seeds, and acorn cracker with hazelnut praline and black truffle whipped cream.
