Machneyuda
Jerusalem, Israel
The father of two of London's hottest restaurants, The Palomar and The Barbary, Machneyuda serves up bold, bright Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine made with ingredients plucked from nearby Mahane Yehuda Market. Launched over 15 years ago by a trio of Israeli chefs, the place still buzzes and the concept has grown into the multinational hospitality group we know today. Crates of vegetables line the rustic space, while the open kitchen allows diners to watch the preparation of artful, produce-led dishes. There's a tasting menu or pick and choose from the a la carte, which features such dishes as sirloin tartare served with sesame crackers, burnt peppers and a pine nut aioli to chicken livers with mash, and honey and sea salt tart served with a Koroneiki olive oil for dessert.
