Villa Feltrinelli

Lake Garda, Italy

A 19th century palazzo perched above Lake Garda, Villa Feltrinelli is a grande dame of European hospitality. Even before the pink castle was converted into a hotel at the millennium, the property regularly hosted the likes of Grace Kelly, Winston Churchill, and D.H. Lawrence. Today, the Italian retreat’s welcoming feel and placid beauty still attract a roster of world and business leaders. The welcome begins at the moment of arrival. Bags are whisked to the room while guests receive fresh cut flowers during private check-ins. Welcome amenities like citrus from the grounds and a complimentary minibar are presented while luggage is unpacked and pressed. The hospitable beginning is just one benefit of the three-to-one staff to guest ratio. The Villa’s core philosophy is service on a bespoke level. There is no spa, but in-room massage is available. The sole restaurant is celebrated chef Stefano Baiocco’s high art outlet for tasting menus, though the kitchen will happily prepare any dish a guest desires. The 20 rooms and suites all maintain a strong Art Nouveau aesthetic. Art, rugs, handcrafted mouldings and striking views of the lake, manicured gardens, or croquet lawn define the rooms.
