Jeffer

Pisa, Italy

With its rattan chairs, Tuesday taco nights and lemon-yellow walls and floors that pop against verdant tropical plants, Jeffer looks like the kind of drinking spot you might find off a sun-soaked beach somewhere, perhaps in Ibiza or Tulum. But this is historic Pisa, home of *that* iconic leaning tower, and the nearby body of water a few steps from the front door is no sea but in fact the snaking Amo river. Playful, tropical and modern in spirit, the bar’s cocktails range from a Speedy Negroni, featuring tequila rather than gin and amphora-aged, to a Don Special Daiquiri topped with passion fruit ice cream. Mortadella and burrata-stuffed bao, mini pizzas and nachos are all on tap, as are those tacos come Tuesday – the latter sold for just €1 each.
