Set in the sun‑drenched hills of Vittoria, in southern Sicily's Ragusa province, Azienda Agricola Arianna Occhipinti has become one of Italy's most admired expressions of natural winemaking. Founded in 2004 with a single hectare of vineyard along the ancient Provincial Road 68, the estate has grown to encompass 40 hectares of vines. Farmed organically and biodynamically, every element here is guided by the rhythms of the land: vineyards coexist with olive trees, fruit trees and fields of ancient grains, forming a vibrant patchwork of biodiversity. The wines tell the story of their landscape with quiet precision. Frappato and Nero d'Avola, the native grapes of the region, remain central to the estate's identity, while Cerasuolo di Vittoria – the island's only DOCG – anchors its reputation. Concrete tanks and minimal intervention preserve freshness and authenticity, allowing the fruit to speak in its purest form. In 2025, Occhipinti extended her philosophy of balance and belonging beyond wine with Chaza, a hospitality project set in the heart of the nearby Monti Iblei. Conceived as a modern rural agora, it invites travellers into a series of houses built from local stone and timber, surrounded by vineyards and gardens. The design emphasises connection to the landscape and to the slow pleasures of rural Sicilian life. Guests can tour the cellars, learn about organic viticulture and taste a selection of wines alongside estate‑made olive oil, bread and garden vegetables. They are encouraged to immerse themselves in the agricultural cycle, explore walking paths between vines and olive trees, or share long, simple meals prepared with produce from the estate's gardens.
