Masi Cellars
Valpolicella, Italy
- No.83 The World's 50 Best Vineyards 2025
Masi is one of the Veneto's top producers of Amarone della Valpolicella and an avid champion of the appassimento method of drying grapes, which lends their wines complexity and concentration. The family-run firm specialises in high-end single vineyard wines from the Veneto. Presiding over a number of northern Italian wineries, tourism experiences include stays at its historic Foresteria Serego Alighieri in Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella, owned by the descendants of poet Dante Alighieri, which boasts eight apartments dotted among the vines. Masi's ambitious new HQ, Monteleone21, features a grape drying hall that's been transformed into an immersive space by digital artist Fabrizio Plessi. Whilst there you can trot through the vineyards on horseback, or zoom around on an e-bike, see the appassimento method up close, and enjoy a lunch paired with Masi wines at Locanda Costasera.
