Perhaps the best shojin ryori (Buddhist vegetarian cuisine) on the planet. But it's not just the food (look out for the carrot and burdock soup with deep fried potatoes, bracken fern tempura and soba noodles with green onions, Japanese mustard and seaweed) that makes this place so special. Daigo's eight private dining rooms are an urban oasis fronted by a lush garden just a stone's throw from the Seisho-ji Temple at the foot of Mount Atago. Be sure to try the fresh strawberry and loquat (a peach-like fruit) for afters. So zen, you'll float home.
