Matbakhi's food offers a cosmopolitan take on Palestinian cuisine. Reflected in the name, which translates as "my kitchen," chef-owner Sawsan Da'ana wanted to recreate the feeling of gathering around a family table. What began as a modest restaurant and catering business has become a polished dining destination in one of Kuwait's busiest shopping hubs. Expect charcoal-grilled lamb skewers as well as the signature musakhan: roast chicken layered with sumac-spiced onions and pine nuts atop taboon bread baked in a custom stone oven. Finish with a pot of Turkish sage tea, blended in-house to Chef Sawsan's own recipe.
