At the foot of the sacred Mount Phousi lies Aman’s sole hotel in Laos. Set in garden-like grounds within the Unesco-protected town of Luang Prabang, Amantaka counts more than 30 temples and the Mekong river as neighbours. Bathed in natural light, the hotel’s 24 suites feature four-poster beds beneath lofty wooden ceilings, along with rattan touches, white-washed walls and mahogany accents.
