For full immersion in the flavours and culture of Mexico, rooftop bar Bekeb Artisanal Mixology in San Miguel de Allende is the place to be. The bar’s name refers to the word for “seed” in the Tzotzil language, a nod to the bar’s commitment to the land, and its roots. This extends to the drinks list, making creative and remarkable use of the country’s produce, as well as its spirits. The bar’s eponymous cocktail, for example, combines mezcal, elderflower Liqueur, lemon verbena and pineapple, and there’s a selection of coffee cocktails, as well as a non-alcoholic cocktail list. The bar and terrace is run by Fabiola Padilla, and offers panoramic views – perfect for taking in the sunset, drink in hand.
