Jan Sobecki worked in the TriBeCa area of New York for years but his fine dining establishment in a quiet area of Heeze is based on French cuisine, albeit with global influences. His real thing is freshness, flavour and a ‘harvested in the morning, on your table in the evening’ ethos – not as difficult as it sounds given that the restaurant has a flourishing garden on site. Dishes such as tender lamb with garden-grown crunchy peas are a testament to Sobecki’s belief that less is more as long as the ingredients are impeccable. The simple but elegant dining room is now complemented by a 10-seat kitchen experience which gets you up close to the action on comfortable bar seats and is a great option for a private party or work do. An outdoor terrace surrounded by flowers completes a very attractive picture.
