Housed in the old Westafco building in Victoria Island’s Saka Tinubu district, Z Kitchen offers upscale Nigerian and international wining and dining across its multi-roomed interior, which spans the elegant, light-flooded main restaurant, an enclosed courtyard garden, a serene wine room and buzzy bar. Owned by Lebanese husband-and-wife Ziad and Zeina Beydoun, the 2018-opened operation has developed a big local fan base thanks to its friendly, professional front-of-house team, excellent attention to detail and flavour-packed cuisine. In addition to a wide array of comfort classics such as fresh crab rolls, empanadas and rotisserie chicken, the “Butcher’s Cuts” selection offers an impressive line-up of meats, including a 1kg tomahawk and a 250g ostrich fillet. The weekly-changing set menu represents great value for money, not least for dessert options that run the gamut from sticky toffee pudding to cardamom-spiced apple crumble.
