Sophisticated Peruvian fusion comfort food rules at Cosme. It’s a smart spot led by James Beckemeyer, who trained under Gaston Acurio at the renowned Astrid y Gastón. The communal dining space is illuminated ceiling of upcycled colored bottles and feature a family style table perfect for starting conversation. Taking native ingredients and giving them an Asian twist, star dishes include pulled pork bao, sea bass curry and salmon flavoured with mandarin. And, of course, it wouldn’t be Lima without ceviche and the Peruvian-Japanese tiradito on the menu. A variety of homemade sodas sit on the drinks list, including the likes of cardamom lemonade, pineapple and ginger beer, and lemongrass and tangerine, which all, of course, can be given a kick by a splash of pisco.
