Josephine

Belgrade, Serbia

While paying tribute to 1920s icon Josephine Baker and the Art Deco era that she lived in, this Belgrade cocktail bar and restaurant remains decidedly contemporary, particularly when it comes to its cocktails and food. With bartenders Dusan Zarić and Vladimir Simić behind the cocktail list, there’s plenty to choose from, and an array of unusual ingredients in play. There’s the Paloma Brava, with tequila, grapefruit cordial, lime, salt, celery bitters and grapefruit soda, or the Le Lion, a combination of gin fat washed with olive oil, tartaric acid, paragon white penja pepper cordial, basil and echinacea tincture. Guests can enjoy these at the bar, in the garden, or at the table alongside internationally-inspired cuisine from executive chef Mirko Stojic. Back at the bar, there’s an extensive spirits selection and a changing wine offering sourced both locally and from further afield.
