With its black awnings, concrete floors and gleaming glass panels, Meta’s interiors are cool, composed and creative. This philosophy perfectly reflects chef Sun Kim’s cooking, a bold combination of French technique, ingredients such as hand-dived abalone from his native Korea and Japanese influences. As well as plundering childhood memories, Sun Kim draws on his training at Tetsuya Wakuda’s world-famous restaurant in Sydney to create five and seven-course menus that are as textural as they are balanced. Meta – the name is short for metamorphosis – is the sort of place you go to impress a date or show you friends that you have your finger on the pulse of Singapore’s constantly evolving food scene. It won the One To Watch Award at Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 2021.
