Bodegas Muga
Rioja Alta, Spain
- No.53 The World's 50 Best Vineyards 2025
Founded in 1932 by Isaac Muga and Aurora Caño in Haro, the beating heart of Rioja Alta, three generations of Mugas have kept the spirit of the bodega – and the family legacy – alive. Seamlessly fusing tradition and modernity, the winery produces barrel-aged whites, refreshing rosé and a quartet of sparkling wines, but is best known for its velvety reds, including top drop Prado Enea Gran Reserva, which is aged for seven years. It's also the only winery in Spain to make its own barrels. For a vineyard visit with a different take to the skies and marvel at the magnificent views from above in a hot air balloon, or race through the vines on an e-bike or Segway tour then unwind with a glass of the bodega's rosé and local tapas at the Muga Terrace.
