The restaurant and nine boutique guestrooms are housed in a bewitchingly beautiful Swiss castle. Chef-owner Andreas Caminada was 26 when he took over the remote Fürstenau landmark in 2003, when it stood empty. His precise haute cuisine has since garnered Schloss Schauenstein three Michelin stars. The multi-sensory tasting menus showcase regional produce – red cabbage, pikeperch, langoustines – prepared with astonishing attention to detail and served up in sumptuous surrounds. Guests also receive a small, collectable card explaining the dishes and wine selection.
