The restaurant and 11 boutique guestrooms and suites are housed in a bewitchingly beautiful Swiss castle. Chef-owner Andreas Caminada was 26 when he took over the remote Fürstenau landmark in 2003, when it stood empty. In 2024, it celebrates its 20th anniversary. His precise haute cuisine has since garnered Schloss Schauenstein three Michelin stars, with long-term Marcel Skibba joining Caminada as head chef and partner in January 2023. The multi-sensory tasting menus showcase regional produce – red cabbage, pikeperch, langoustines – prepared with astonishing attention to detail and served up in sumptuous surrounds. Guests also receive a small, collectable card explaining the dishes and wine selection.
