- No.56 The World's 50 Best Vineyards 2025
Rhodesia-born entrepreneur Penny Streeter OBE couldn't resist the chance to acquire West Sussex gem Leonardslee House & Gardens when the opportunity arose in 2016. She quickly set about planting vineyards within the Grade I listed grounds and today she and her four children preside over a trio of English sparkling wines, including a blanc de blancs, brut reserve, and a rosé created by South African winemaker Johann Fourie. If you're keen to maximise your visit you can book yourself into one of ten luxury suites within the Grade II listed Leonardslee House, all of which have spectacular views, then head down to Interlude Restaurant run by rising star chef Jean Delport, whose daring dishes include ingredients foraged from the estate's grounds. Tutored tastings and golf buggy vineyard tours are also available.
