Amaya's fusion of Indian fine dining and tapas has become a London institution since opening in 2004. And for good reason: each dish balances the subtle nuances of myriad herbs and spices with some of the best grilled meats and seafood to be had anywhere in the city. Highlights include tandoori ocean wild prawns, grilled duck breast with spiced toasted coconut and wild venison seekh kebab. Each is complemented with a quartet of chutneys, including seasonal offerings flavoured with everything from rose to quince. And look out for the delicious dry peanut powder on your table. That, alone, makes the trip worthwhile.
