Frasca Food and Wine

Boulder, US

A contender for the title of best restaurant in Colorado, Frasca has been wining plaudits since bringing fine Italian dining to Boulder in 2004. The restaurant’s name is the first clue that food and wine are given equal billing by founders chef Lachlan Mackinnon-Patterson and sommelier Bobby Stuckey; that, and a backlit wine wall taking up one side of the elegantly minimalist dining room. The cooking of Friuli-Venezia Giulia is the touchstone for a prix-fixe menu majoring in sublime handmade pastas and exceptional dry-aged and roasted meats. Wines offer a similar deep-dive into the north-eastern Italian region as well as venturing further afield while food and drink are supported by genuinely warm service from staff happy to work here.
